To comply with the terms of the agreement or to be prepared for contempt of court, the Supreme Court has told the couple who had divorced from the court on the basis of mutual agreement. The husband had filed a petition in the Supreme Court in this case because Allahabad High Court had upheld the order of the District Court, in which the District Court rejected his divorce application.

During this hearing, the bench sent the couple to the arbitration center. In the mediation center, the two parties agreed to resolve the matter together and filed a separate petition under Article 142 of the Constitution of India to dissolve marriage with mutual consent.

According to the terms of the agreement, the husband agreed to give Rs 10 lakh to his wife and Rs three lakh to the daughter. She also agreed for the fact that at the time of her marriage, she will give one lakh rupees more. Both sides agreed that the three cases pending between the two parties will be withdrawn or they will give their consent to cancel them.




While dissolving the marriage, the bench of Justice R Bhanumathi and Justice Sajid Najir said, “In the event of non-compliance with the conditions of the agreement, the parties, apart from other measures available under the law, also for the contempt of this court Be liable ‘
